Al Duhail returned to winning ways in the QNB Stars League with a 4-2 victory over Al Wakrah on Saturday at Jassim bin Hamad Stadium.
Al Wakrah took a surprise lead after less than three minutes when Mohamed Beyettou headed in Ali Malallah’s cross, but Al Duhail equalised in the 23rd minute through Ali Afif, before Mohamed Muntari put them in front nine minutes from the break, tapping in a low cross from Luiz Martin.
Ismael Mardnali levelled the score early in the second half, after good work from Crisitan Ceballos, to revive his side’s hopes of upsetting the six-time league winners, but a deadly mistake from Jassem Al Hashemi gave Muntari his second goal of the game in the 67th minute. Al Moez Ali sealed the hard-earned victory from the penalty spot in injury time.
