Al-Sadd came back from behind to defeat Umm Salal and maintain their 100 percent record.
Yassin Al-Bakhit gave Umm Salal a surprise lead after just 5 minutes when he received a pass from Isael before finding his way past Pedro Miguel and sending the ball home.
The lead lasted less than 8 minutes, as Akram Afif levelled the score with a low effort from just inside the box after a back pass from Santi Cazorla.
The two players combined again in the 29th minute, when Afif found Cazorla with a similar pass and the Spaniard found the net with another low shot.
Cazorla was once again involved in the Al-Sadd’s third goal in the second half, as he found Rodrigo Tabata on the right, and the former Qatar international crossed to Andre Ayew who beat the goalkeeper with an angled shot.
Al-Sadd remained on top of the standings with 21 points from seven matches, three ahead of their nearest rivals, Al-Duhail. Umm Salal suffered their second defeat, but they are still looking for their first win after drawing in five of their seven matches.
