The second round of the QSL Cup concluded on Thursday.

Al Shamal maintained their perfect start with a 2-1 win against Muaither, thanks to goals from Alex Collado and Ahmed Al Saeed. They lead the standings on six points, ahead of Al Duhail and Umm Salal on goal difference.

Joao Pedro’s early strike earned Qatar SC their first victory of the campaign as they beat Al Bidda 1-0.

Al Gharafa opened their campaign with a 4-2 victory against Mesaimeer. Yacine Brahimi scored twice and Adam Ounas added another to give the Cheetahs a commanding 3-0 half-time lead.

Jean Kouassi and Ibrahim Souissi reduced the deficit after the break, but Frank Magri’s stoppage-time penalty ended Mesaimeer’s hopes of a comeback.

The competition’s 15th edition features a revised format, with 19 teams competing in a single league phase. Each side plays four matches against opponents from different seeding pots, with the top eight advancing to the knockout stage.
