Al-Sadd reached the Amir Cup final after a 3-0 win over Al-Arabi at Jassim bin Hamad Stadium on Sunday.

In a repeat of last year’s final, the defending champions needed less than ten minutes to take the lead through Nam Tae Hee who headed in a cross from Yusuf Abdurisag.

Baghdad Bounedjah doubled the score in the 56th minute with a powerful effort from just inside the box after a perfect pass from Hassan Al-Haydos.

Ten minutes from time, the Algeria international was brought down by Al-Arabi goalkeeper Mahmoud Abunada inside the box. Santi Cazorla made no mistake from the spot to seal an emphatic victory for the Qatar Stars League champions.

Xavi’s side will now have a chance to complete a domestic triple when they play the final on May 14th against either Al-Duhail or Al-Rayyan who will clash today in the second semifinal.
