Qatar defeated India 1-0 to go seven points clear at the top of Group E in the 2023 Asian Cup & 2022 FIFA World Cup Joint-Qualifiers.

Abdulaziz Hatem scored the only goal of the game in the 33rd minute.

The Asian champions dominated the game but failed to add more goals due to mixture of their poor finishing and a brilliant performance from India goalkeeper Gurpreet Singh.

India played with ten men for most of the match after Rahul Bheke was sent-off in the 17th minute.

They now need only a draw against Oman in their final qualifying match on June 7th to reach the 2023 AFC Asian Cup as group winners.
